Offline Tom, let me see if I can keep my Xs, 1s and 9s straight. A 49X491 is a 12' Quiet blade, any year. A 78X191 is a 12' Vorty, at least the 3 wing black and silver ones. I would think the 1940-41 four wing black and silver 12' Vorty would also have that number. (Probably not so; see below) The 12' Vortalex shown in this link- is actually a 12' Quiet Blade with a four wing Vorty blade stuck on. Remember that a four wing Vorty has a carrying handle and the data tag is on the rim of the base instead of on top of the motor because the handle was in the way. Three wing Vortys have the data plate on top of the motor.
