Hi Mediaboy, You won't get an upgrade from 5 postcode digits to full 7 for use in UK, unless you buy a new car with it already present. Audi advised me they won't be upgrading this feature on existing units. Not good news and really this should have been standard from day one. I recently read an article in The Daily Telegraph - Motoring Section - Honest John column, and he advised anyone who had bought such a system for operation in the UK, bearing in mind how much the Audi SatNav costs, should reject it under the Sale of Goods Act as not being fit for purpose! I know what he means but too late for me to complain.It's a very good system other than this missing feature, but this was a big omission from Audi.

So I've found a few different articles, but the steps outlined all differ and some posts say it's possible, other say it's not or it's dangerous. I have an RS Q3. Dealer is quoting about $800 to update the MMI software and maps (2 years old). I can't do it myself, I can't download anything via MyAudi (I double checked with the dealer). I had a 370Z before and could do these updates via USB. I'm definitely not gonna pay $800 for a dealer to plug a USB cable so what are my options?
